In Comepal, we are dedicated to offering comprehensive solutions for the packaging sector, logistics and decoration, both for business and private individuals, by designing, manufacturing, recycling, and supplying wooden pallets. Since we were founded in 1984, more than three decades of history endorse a team with wide-ranging experience and know-how, committed to European regulations – ISPM-15 International standard–, to a circular economy and sustainable development –certified as waste managers by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Autonomous Government of Catalonia)–.
Comepal is characterised by offering a high level of quality in the finishes of its products, either new or recycled pallets. Our workforce, formed by twenty highly qualified professionals, can provide an agile and effective response to the requirements of clients, with a reliable and responsible attention and advice during the entire commercial process (pre-sales and post-sales).
Wooden pallets are one of the most frequently used packaging methods due to their toughness, reliability and adaptation to logistics for national and international transportation. Standardised or made-to-measure manufacturing allows us to adapt to the client’s needs and market trends, providing high-quality pallets for industry, transport of goods in the best conditions, as well as decoration:
In Comepal, we are characterised by dedicating our resources to the specialisation and development of our two main differentiated activities. For this reason, we have two installations; one dedicated exclusively to manufacturing new pallets (Comepal 1 – El Catllar, Tarragona) and the other for recycling and recovering used pallets (Comepal 2 – Els Pallaresos, Tarragona).

In our Comepal 1 installations, we have an automatic nailing machine and other professional machinery necessary for producing standard as well as made-to-measure wooden pallets that respond to quality and resistance specifications. We also cater for the particular needs of industry, as we are certified by the Association of Plastic Manufacturers in Europe (APME) for making Chemical Pallets (CP) for use in the chemical industry.
Pallets are collected by our own vehicles and taken to our warehouses, where they are unloaded, repaired and classified according to size and characteristics. We have the most sophisticated equipment to minimize the waste generated in this process. Once selected, they are stored and placed at the disposal of clients.
Comepal is certified by the Junta de Residus de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Waste agency of the Catalan Government) as a Waste Manager type R0306. In our installations in Comepal 2, we have a pallet shredder, which, once the metal parts are separated, shreds them into clean wood chips that can be used for different purposes (pellets, chipboard, etc.), while the metal goes to a foundry; thus 100% is recycled.
We have two thermal cabins for treating wooden pallets and packaging that needs to be subjected to phytosanitary treatments and indelibly marked as regulated in ISPM-15. The pallets undergo a thermal treatment at 56ºC for 30 minutes in the wood centre.
An exclusive service for all sorts of companies in the industrial sector. In Comepal, we can prepare customised designs to cater to the client’s needs and requirements, making samples for testing, and if approved, mass-produced.
We have our own vehicles for delivering and collecting pallets: Two vans that are mainly used for collecting used pallets for processing, a truck for delivering and collecting in large installations and external trucks to reinforce our service to clients.
Comepal is committed to people. Therefore, we dedicate our efforts to optimise our resources and technologies to offer an up to date service, following market trends and quality standards and principles. Our business model applies and reinforces sustainable solutions to reduce environmental impact and protect the environment. In Comepal, we are type R0306 waste managers for recycling and reusing wooden pallets, authorised by the Junta de Residus de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Autonomous Government of Catalonia). Therefore, our activities are carried out responsibly within a framework that aims to care for the environment and sustainable development.
We also work in a scenario that strives for the satisfaction of our clients and collaborators. To achieve these goals, we implement international standards and regulations that guarantee the safety of our processes and certify the maximum quality of our products. Therefore, we apply International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures- ISPM-15 -, adopted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and regarding the regulations on wooden packaging used for foreign trade. We comply with the specifications and special treatments required by pallets destined for industry (CP), as an organisation certified by the Association of Plastic Manufacturers in Europe (APME), to provide a service that guarantees security in the transport of goods.
